Falerno del Massico DOC, Drink the Favorite Wine of the Ancient Romans

Would you like to sip the same wine that ancient Roman Emperors enjoyed? Pour yourself a glass of Falerno del Massico DOC!

Geography

In Italy, wines with DOC (Denominazione di Origine Controllata) classification are produced within a designated zone, according to strict quality standards and production methods.

Falerno del Massico DOC is an appellation located in the region of Campania, just north of Naples along the Tyrrhenian Sea. It lies at the base of the now dormant Volcano Roccamonfina.

Flavor Profile

The flavor of the wine is influenced by volcanic soil and coastal climate, giving it a wonderfully refreshing acidity and minerality.

It has floral notes on the nose, followed by notes of peaches, citrus, and herbs on the palate. The body is reminiscent of the soothing consistency of honeyed tea, with a refreshing finish.

Food Pairings

To accompany your glass of Falerno del Massico DOC, think fresh, coastal inspired summer dishes.

The old adage “what grows together goes together” rings true for Falerno del Massico. Pair this white wine with seafood dishes from the region of Campania.

It also goes well with a refreshing caprese salad made of tomatoes, mozzarella, and basil. It’s the perfect wine to celebrate the bounties of summer and warm balmy nights.
